Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation

Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation £8.99

Here's a product that I have been wanting to review for so long now and it's the Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation. I am in the colour 400 Natural Beige which is probably a tad dark on me now. However, this matched me perfectly back when I first purchased it late last year. My skin was darker then as I travelled a lot over the summer and caught a bit of sun. I was using it quite regularly and have gone through almost two thirds of the bottle.

The consistency of this is really thick, and by that I mean a lot thicker than any other foundation I have ever tried before. This doesn't particularly bother me as it still applies very smoothly with my Real Techniques Buffing Brush. I normally use around a pump and a half to two pumps of this to get an even coverage around my face and neck. It has a light to medium coverage, enough to even out the skin and cover most of the redness and discolouration around the face. Although it has a pretty decent amount of coverage, you would still need to use a concealer with this for any problem areas such as spots and under-eye circles. It has SPF 15 too which is always a good thing to have in a foundation. There is also a slight scent to it which I actually quite like but if you're not one for scented foundations, then I would definitely stay clear of this.

It claims to re-awaken and illuminate the skin which I agree with. I think this is due to the little amounts of shimmer in the product that gives the skin a glowing effect, making it look a lot more awake and radiant. The shimmer really isn't visible once it's on the face unless inspected up close or swatched. It also has a very natural finish, not too matte, not too dewy. The lasting power is pretty fair. I have normal/combination skin and it lasts around 8 hours of good wear on me. It can probably stretch up to 10, maybe even 12 hours without looking patchy and oily depending on how often I powder and sweat throughout the day. But for the most part, it stays on really well and doesn't just melt away during the day.

I really like this foundation. In fact, I couldn't think of a bad thing to say about it. And although it may not be the most amazing base out there, it stays true to what it says on the bottle and does a really good job in doing the things I would want a foundation to do. Would I buy it again? Yes. Would I recommend it to other people? Definitely. It's cheap and cheerful and overall a good product. Have you tried the Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation, what's your thoughts on it? Let me know! x
